A cow is not only an animal that gives us milk but it is also worshipped and given the status of a mother and is referred to as Gou Maata in Vedic tradition.
Every product of the cow – the Go-Mutra (cow’s urine), cow dung, cow’s milk, and so on – has religious and therapeutic importance. Cow dung and cow urine were traditionally used for purification before sacred ceremonies, like bathing a deity for Abhishek. However, since dairy activities and products have become more commercialized, cows are now seen as milk vending machines.
