Along with other autism-related difficulties, speech problems are common in children with the disorder. Individuals with autism can overcome their speech-related and communication challenges with the use of speech and language therapy. Studies indicate that early speech therapy can help some children overcome the symptoms of autism as they develop into adulthood. They can live a life that is almost normal and effectively control their symptoms. A child with autism who struggles with speaking and does not receive speech treatment is likely to experience behavioral problems as well. If the child, like us, is unable to communicate the bottled-up feelings through speech, it causes frustration and can result in behavioral problems.
