New Delhi. The Supreme Court has given its verdict on electoral bonds. A few months before the Lok Sabha elections, the Supreme Court on Thursday declared the 6-year-old electoral bond scheme illegal. Also, taking donations through this was immediately banned. This decision is being considered a blow to the central government. While delivering the verdict, CJI DY Chandrachud said that the electoral bond scheme is a violation of the Right to Information and considered it unconstitutional.
