A quantity surveyor is a qualified professional working within the built environment. They will make estimations and prepare budget calculations for planned projects. Every day as a quantity surveyor can be different. Some days you’ll be operating from an on-site office, other days you could be assessing the site projects and liaising with other planners and engineers. As a quantity surveyor, you’ll need to be confident with preparing tender documents, consulting with teams and clients and preparing cost analyses. Quantity surveying is an all-encompassing role with many different attributes and no two days will be the same.
