Hernia in a body occurs when fatty tissue or an organ pushes through a weak place in the surrounding connective tissue or a muscle wall. A hernia normally does not heal on its own and only continues to increase in size. It rarely results in fatal complications. The urgency of treating it depends on the size and symptoms of the hernia. In an inguinal hernia, fatty tissue or a part of the intestine pushes into the groin atop the inner thigh and it affects men more often than women.
