Artificial intelligence (AI) has made quite a name for itself in the previous year. However, lately, its pitfalls have been dominating most of the conversation. By now, we are all familiar with the failed, yet viral, Willy Wonka Glasgow experience, and have witnessed the harm AI can cause to an event and its attendees. Unfortunately, when it comes to using AI technology, “Pure Imagination” needs some limitations. Despite the 2017 Fyre Festival, event planners weren’t able to avoid the temptation of AI to prevent creating the next viral event hoax. The event industry can greatly benefit from technology advancements and AI, as long as event marketers and planners can implement a system of checks and balances to avoid relying too heavily on it.
