For regular trains, there is a fare chart that lists out the fare for various kilometre slabs for various classes of travel. There are minimum charges payable, and in addition, there are distance restrictions available on certain trains/classes. The fares per kilometre decreases significantly as the distance increases, known as ‘telescopic fares’. Concessions are based on these fares. There are additional charges applicable such as reservation fees, superfast charges, tatkal fares, and now dynamic fares.
Trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto expresses etc. which have all-inclusive fares usually have rates based on these fare charts, with all costs added in. The breakup is not in the normal public domain.
