Do you ever get so overwhelmed with work that you just need to take a break? Maybe you need to find your happy place. For me, that place is my childhood home. I can close my eyes and transport myself back to the days when life was simple. I was carefree and had no worries.
If you're looking for a way to escape the stress of everyday life, try finding your happy place. It doesn't have to be a physical place, it can be anything that makes you feel happy and relaxed. Maybe it's spending time with your pets, listening to your favorite music, or taking a walk in nature.
No matter what it is, finding your happy place can help you rejuvenate and refocus so that you can return to work with a fresh perspective.
1. Introduction
We all need time to relax and rest for our bodies and minds – sometimes even just to “be”. Whether our activity requires focus and concentration or whether we need our body to rest after a tiring day, learning how to find a happy place is very useful and important.
According to psychologist Milton Erickson, “God It's Sunday afternoon and you have to get up early for work, there is no place for joy, rest, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, or even aspirin! So you went to the happy place, now what?”
Many of us fail to find our happy place because we find the places further up the mountain more welcoming. The scenic view is enticing but it can make us distracted and unfocused.
Instead, if energy, enthusiasm, and a sense of pleasure can be found through simple experiences and things that make us feel good, those are our ways of finding our happy place.
