Dehradun is a city in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand , and also its capital. The city derives its name from two words – ‘Dera’ meaning home and ‘Doon’ meaning valley, as it lies in the valleys between the Himalayas and the Shivaliks in the region. Dehradun is surrounded by hilly terrains and greenery, and has various beautiful places of interest.
