The government first suggested that certain equipment receive BEE ratings in 2010. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency's principal goal is to decrease the economy's energy intensity. The BEE star labelling project currently covers thirty products, twenty of which are covered voluntarily and ten of which are covered via a mandated plan. Ceiling fans are included in the voluntary programme. Therefore, BEE Registration for Ceiling Fan is not compulsory for all manufacturers of ceiling fans.
